Greetings from somewhere off the coast of Uruguay!

It's amazing that after 6400 miles, the fleet are still bunched together and within striking distance of the finish line. Add in the time and distance lost due to our medevac and we're especially glad to still be in the mid-pack. We are waiting on tenterhooks, praying that the wind hole forecast for today is either gone or that we have just passed the worst of it. We are cruising at 13 knots with our Yankee 1 up and making a beeline for port.

Leg 1 has brought us many highs and lows. Our finish will be bittersweet as although it will bring the thrill of hot showers, fresh fruit and vegetables, wine and steak dinners, beer and many other earthly pleasures, it also means we'll be saying goodbye to our 'Leggers': Marie, Megan, and Polly. We look forward to multi-leggers Mike, Jerry and Sco rejoining us again for future legs. Word has it that Jerry and Sco are keeping a table free for us at the local pub to celebrate when we arrive in Uruguay.

Again, many thanks to friends and family who have supported us on our journey. It's been a long passage and your emails and comments on our supporters page (which have been relayed to us) have kept spirits up.

Look out Punta del Este, here we come!
