Failte a chairde, welcome friends, family and crew to the good ship Derry~Londonderry~Doire.

The Atlantic crossing has been achieved with great speed, and late Saturday afternoon the first land we came upon after leaving New York was Arranmore Island, to the north-west coast of Donegal and home to me.

It was a most welcome sight and I must say I had a tear in my eye as we approached. After making our way to Tory and rounding the island, we soon left the last sight of land of Tory and its lighthouse bathed in the last of the evening sunshine, a beautiful image on display for us alone.

Today under the cover of stealth we are making way to Rockall as an extension to the Atlantic crossing, (seems we were just too fast!) however I'm not that displeased with the decision, as I'm sure that I would never have the opportunity otherwise to make the passage to Rockall, hopefully we will get to see the sight as we round it.

Everyone has given 110% to make this leg a memorable one, to lead the fleet to our home port and to achieve podium position, let’s hope all the hard work and effort has paid off, now feeling rather worn and tired , we are told that there will be time for sleeping in Derry -I'm not so sure about that!

Not long now till then where a Cead Mile Failte awaits, go dti sin, Slan x Love to all at home & see you all soon xx
