Well, here we are. A month in and closing in on our final destination of Punta del Este.

At this moment we are being frustrated by being stuck in a wind hole so progress is slow but hopefully the wind will get going again soon.

We have two other Clipper Race boats in view right now, both Liverpool 2018 and HotelPlanner.com, on either side. Considering that several thousand miles have been sailed, there's a lot of boats within striking distance of each other so should make for an exciting race finish and interesting to watch on the Race Viewer.

Still watching out for marine wildlife, especially whales, but apart from a few sea birds circling the boat there's not a lot going on in that department, even the flying fish seem to have deserted us. But at least that saves getting hit by one in the middle of the night.

Things I am looking forward to when getting back into town include steak, beer, shower and putting on some non-damp clothes. Getting around the boat is a bit easier now we are sailing more on the level. This means I don't have to haul myself into my bunk now and then tie myself in with a sail tie. Also, it's a bit cooler below deck so much easier for sleeping.

Sure, it will be a bit strange coming into Uruguay and seeing some different faces apart from the 22 we have been looking at for the last month. We have been in our own world for that time and it's been amazing that everyone's just got on each other and all the stuff on board without too much fuss, although talk on our watch keeps coming back to a murder mystery theme and who's going to get bumped off first with the likely victim changing regularly.

Anyway I'm heading back home after Leg 1 to a world free of feta cheese and sweetcorn so best wishes to the crew and the Skipper for all the races to come. It's been a fantastic experience. Also, hello to all friends and family back home. Cheers!
