A Day in the Life of the PSP Mascots

Today started gently for the furriest members of the PSP Logistics crew as we helped the Mothers wash up the dishes from breakfast. Licking the Nutella spoon is Betty’s favourite part of this job, and Christer likes cleaning the peanut butter spoon. Soggy work for our little paws rinsing out the bowls, so we quickly headed up on deck (clipping on of course) to sunbathe for a few hours to dry out and join in with the mounting excitement from the crew as the DTB (distance to bath) gets shorter and we get ever nearer our first stopover in Uruguay.

A call for a kite change meant woolling which we really like (the humans don’t seem to enjoy this very much for some reason, they complain about getting too hot). Lots of activity below decks and plenty of chance to run around nudging the edges in neatly with our noses and paws and carrying extra lengths of wool to woollers in need – what’s not to like? One of the humans hurt their paw a bit so we gave her some good cuddles to make her feel better (this is our favourite job on board).

A squall just before lunch gave us a bit of a sleigh ride along the waves which was great fun, if a bit bumpy! We tucked ourselves away into our bunk for a snooze once things calmed down a bit, waking up for some tucker and the happy hour at the watch changeover.

A relaxed afternoon watching the AIS (Automatic Identification System) for nearby vessels and the radar for squalls, followed by dinner and duff in the evening before getting all tucked up in bed ready for another exciting day on the Mighty PSP Logistics tomorrow!
