Hi to all Qingdao supporters and greetings from all the crew on leg one.

We completed the Elliot Brown Ocean Sprint this morning at about 0730. We achieved good boat speeds during the sprint, high tens to high elevens with the occasional twelve plus. We hope that we have done enough to get some points from it.

It was exhilarating helming last night. The moon was out, stars in the sky, surfing the wave - that's what we signed up for.

We are pressing on now towards our destination we have full Main and Yankee 1 up with the boat heeled over low in the water. The sun is shining and we are flying. The wind isn't quite right for the spinnakers just yet, but we are hoping for a wind change within 24 hours so we can fly the kite - Yeeha!!

All are in good spirits on board, and we are looking forward to finishing the leg. It seems that we have been on board for months not weeks. We are hopeful for a mid-field or podium finish, but there is stiff competition all around us and everyone is going full pelt to the end.

To my family and friends, I miss you all and hope to speak to some of you soon. Happy birthday and have a great day Kathy, I will be thinking of you especially on the . 22nd
