The end of the leg is in sight!

419 miles to go to Punta del Este. Qingdao is still in 4th place and the tension on deck is intense!

Miss R has the critical responsibility of blowing the tack line. Mr K is our first class grinder, ready to keep our Code 1 Spinnaker up and running. Mr M is a constantly demanding trimmer. And suddenly the command that we all fear: “Didier please, write the blog today!” I desperately try all usual excuses to escape, but none of them works.

We are all focused to arrive as soon as possible and I can hear on the VHF that GREAT Britain is in the exact same racing spirit. We all look forward to a shower, stable bed, beer and steak! After more than a month of sailing they will be really welcome! However, I cannot simply summarise this leg to these “goals”. We've had intense days, tiring but really rich in experience. We can all smile about “The Race of My Life”. But now that we are close to the end of this leg – and I'm “just” a legger – I really confirm that this is the race of my life.

We now all bet on the ETA. With the current weather forecasts, it should be between Thursday night (optimistic) and Saturday morning (realistic) or Sunday evening (pessimistic). The problem is that these forecasts can be really wrong. Whatever it will be, one thing is for sure: we've never been so close than now from the arrival! :-)

All the best to all my friends who continue to kindly support us! Cheers!
