Hello all,

A few days ago we were all commenting on how lovely the sailing and weather was. Oh how that has changed the temperature has dropped and the water is cold, especially when running down your back or inside your boots.

The seas have also grown - welcome to the North Atlantic. Frighten to think what it will be like when we are to sail above Scotland.

Living on board is the difficult part the challenge of the race is what we all wanted to experience. Sharing bunks was unexpected for me I never really thought about it until we were leaving. All decisions have to be made on clothing if you have to go back to get sunglasses, a hat anything you will be imposing on your bunk mate.

We have a friendly crew everyone helps everyone else and no job can truly be done alone.

The day before yesterday I was on Navigation - this is my favourite assignment! And wish I was assigned that 3 times in 15 days instead of bilges!

We have just entered the ocean sprint even with all the bad news of extended race course we are still racing on the off chance we can improve our position.

Today July 1st is a very special day it is my mother's birthday so i would like to wish her a very happy birthday and plan to celebrate in Derry-Londonderry!

Enjoy the lobsters on the backdeck! Love you Mom!
