This is a rare opportunity for a sports and adventure loving Digital Media Officer to join the fast paced Clipper Round the World Yacht Race HQ. We’re looking for candidates with a minimum of four years proven success within a relevant media organisation or marketing department.
Competency with backend website content management systems, and the ability to manage integrated systems is vital. You will also have Google Analytics skill and be confident to produce reports. As the go-to person for our service providers in this space, you will also need a sound knowledge of the full range of digital communications tools and latest media trends.
Working in a fast-paced and high-pressure
team environment you’ll be capable of both large-scale project management,
while juggling ad-hoc tasks and meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
In addition, you’ll need to have an eye for selecting the right powerful visual assets and using the most engaging copy to bring our incredible human stories, and the realities of this unique human endurance challenge to life throughout every mile of its exciting global adventure.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of managing the integration of systems and upgrading software and have a commercial mindset.
The role reports to the Head of Brand and Marketing and liaises closely with all departments, in particular the sales and media communications teams.
An endurance challenge in its own right, this role does include some out of hours response, including weekends during the race year. The role is based in the Clipper Race HQ in Gosport, Hampshire.
Sailing experience is not required; though on the water training
will be provided to understand the realities of our event, however a thirst for
life, adrenaline and pushing boundaries is crucial.
Applicants must live, or be prepared to relocate to within, commutable distance of our South Coast, Hampshire HQ, and must already hold the relevant UK working visas.
The Digital Media Officer will report to the Head of Brand & Marketing. Duties include but are not limited to the following key roles and responsibilities:
- Responsible for overall website management, in particular structural tasks (such as adding pages and updating content) and day-to-day problem solving.
- Integration of digital marketing systems (email for example), current sales platform and new platforms if needed.
- Day-to-day lead on digital supplier relationships such as current digital agencies, email supplier etc.
- Google Analytics, social platform analytics and in-house sales tool reports.
- Generate reports as needed for our business partners.
- On top of digital trends and opportunities, finding digital solutions to business needs.
Skills and Personal Qualities
The ideal candidate shall:
Be competent user of website Content Management Systems
Have a confident understanding of HTML
Have hands-on experience of using, managing and monitoring email systems
Have confident Google Analytics skill
Be highly organized and have excellent attention to detail
Be capable of using PowerPoint and/or Prezi.
Collaborate with internal departments to achieve top results
Work to tight deadlines and manage projects independently
Manage multiple projects at the same time
Work under pressure and be flexible on working out of hours and weekends
Be a committed team player with strong work ethic and stamina
You will be required to:
Adhere to all internal order and approval procedures, seeking authority and approvals as appropriate
Support any activity outside these key roles and responsibilities to help maintain the efficient running of the company and to meet its obligations to stakeholders, including but not limited to: crew, sponsors, partners, suppliers and internal departments
Behave in a professional manner at all times, including appearance, branded clothing as appropriate and general conduct.
Do nothing, on or off-duty, to bring the company or the Clipper Race into ill repute
Have sufficient visas to be able to work in the UK, and be able to live within commutable distance of the Clipper Race’s Gosport HQ, Hampshire
Salary range £26-30K per annum with generous company benefits.
