OneDLL retains overall lead

The race declarations in the overall standings for the Clipper 2013-14 Round the World Yacht Race at the end of Race 7 have been confirmed, with OneDLL retaining its place at the top of the leader board.

OneDLL holds a 2.1-point advantage over second placed Henri Lloyd which arrived into Rivergate Marina, Brisbane, Australia this evening local time. The team was awarded average points (9.9) following a late start after essential maintenance in Hobart.

Upon arrival Henri Lloyd’s skipper Eric Holden was already looking ahead to the next race.

“We’ve done a lot of good work on the way here, developing skills and planning for Race 8 up to Singapore. We should get off to a good start and this is going to be a challenging leg, with a lot to contend with, from squalls to Doldrums.”

Meanwhile with a victory during Race 6 and a second place finish in Race 7, Derry~Londonderry~Doire has stolen a march over GREAT Britain by jumping into the final podium place overall. While victor of the race into Brisbane, Switzerland, has climbed into fifth, level on points with Qingdao.

Race 8, Brisbane to Singapore, for the Old Pulteney Navigator Cup, starts on Sunday 12 January at approximately 1700 local time (0700 UTC).

Local conditions are not suitable to setup a start course, so the start of the Race 8 will be conducted as a Le Mans start.
