PSP LOGISTICS RETIRES FROM RACE 9.1

PSP Logistics has retired from Race 9.1 after adverse weather slowed the yacht’s progress, covering just 18 miles in nine hours against strong head winds.

Skipper Chris Hollis told the race office that he will make better progress by motor-sailing and was subsequently given permission by the race director to make best speed to Qingdao including the use of the engine. This means that the team has officially retired from Race 9.1. A decision on points to be awarded will follow.

The skipper believes that this is in the best interests of arriving in Qingdao to maximise their preparation time for Leg 6 (Race 10 of the series), the Pacific Ocean crossing, scheduled to start on Sunday 16 March.
