Just one week to go until Race Village opens!

15 August 2015

As anticipation builds for the start of the tenth edition race, the long awaited opening of the Race Village at St Katharine Docks, London is now just one week away.

From Saturday 22 August to Sunday 30 August from 1100 to 1800 daily, the central London marina will be awash with the bright red race jackets of the Clipper 2015-16 Race’s international crew and skippers, and a series of fascinating events running throughout the schedule are guaranteed to get visitors into the spirit of global adventure.

Join in the journey and enjoy daily live entertainment from stopover ports around the globe, try delicious food stalls, watch big screen race highlights, listen to fascinating masterclass talks with our ocean racing experts, and test your skills on the Harken Grinder Challenge. You can also find Limited Edition Official Clipper Race merchandise for all the family.

Want a taste of what it’s like to be an ocean racer? Take free tours daily on board one of the world’s largest matched fleet of yachts, and listen to tales of the high seas from our alumni crew during our daily Q&A sessions.

Look the part and get kitted out like a race crew member to learn about technical kit from Official Technical Clothing Supplier, Henri Lloyd, test out our Official Clipper Race lifejackets with the RNLI or take the controls and show off your competitive side with remote control model yacht racing.

Want to try out a different adventure on the water? From Thursday 27 August through to Race Start day, stand-up paddle boarding company Active 360 is running free taster sessions around St Katharine Docks marina and paid classes for paddle boarding yoga! If you prefer dry-land, our Official Marine Electronics and Action Camera Partner, Garmin challenge you to the Vector Challenge on board its cycling simulator.

This year the Clipper Race is supporting children’s charity Unicef, working together to make a safer world for children. Visit the Unicef stand and get an insight into what life is like for thousands of people around the world when you immerse yourself in a virtual reality Refugee Camp.
