2015-16 Race Partner Business to Business Activation Highlights
FinTech leader uses NYC to launch new platform
One of the UK’s fastest growing FinTech companies, LMAX Exchange, took
the opportunity to be centre stage in one of the world's biggest financial
centres by hosting a racing regatta for current and prospective clients. Guests
from major banks, hedge funds and wealth management companies in New York were
all welcomed for this one-off opportunity. LMAX Exchange used the spotlight to
announce a major milestone for the company, the launch of its North American platform.
Utilising the international arena of the race, LMAX Exchange also took
advantage in another significant financial market, China, by inviting its
clients and prospects from China, Hong Kong and across Asia to a team building
experience day. This gave LMAX Exchange the opportunity to engage with its
clients on a 1:1 basis and share long term strategy and opportunities in the
region.
With the current restrictions on the advertisement of FX services in
China, LMAX Exchange found the presence of the race and the influential network
surrounding the Qingdao stopover a unique brand awareness opportunity in a
difficult market.

Race partners get ‘matched’ with business opportunities in the thriving Vietnamese economy
Vietnam is amongst the fastest-growing markets in the world and has
seen a 7% growth in the past year. To harness and stimulate this growth further,
the city of Da Nang worked with its regional trade and investment body to organise
a business matchmaking event.
The event gave race partners with a commercial interest
in South East Asia the opportunity to be ‘matched’ with local and national
Vietnamese businesses. The city aimed to increase the visibility of the
business opportunities in Da Nang and initiate trade and investment
conversations between international parties.

PSP Logistics increases presence in China, South Africa and Vietnam
Senior management from PSP Logistics attended the Qingdao stopover in
order to increase its presence in Asia and further develop a long term interest
in the region. In collaboration with a local partner, clients were invited to
sail on the team branded yacht bringing home the truly global nature of PSP’s
Logistics business.
The on board experience was followed by a business
networking lunch to cement conversations and develop new business. Similar
activations were run across the race route in Cape Town, Seattle and Da Nang,
to increase PSP Logistics’ presence in new markets.
