Hi all,

We are really now into the final stretch and there are so many tactics at play. It’s hard to believe that after 6000 nautical miles, the pack is sailing towards Uruguay like a Sunday afternoon round the cans. We had the pleasure yesterday of crossing paths with Garmin and having a nice chat on the radio.

It’s been a tough night again under spinnaker, requiring the utmost concentration from the helmsman. It’s impressive watching these novices helm with a kite up in the pitch dark like they have been doing it for years. I guess many regular Solent sailors have never done 6000 miles though. Anyway, sleep is scarce at the moment so while the going is good - I shall dive onto my Sealy Posturepedic and get some.

Cheers, Dale.
