Pub quizzes, duck faces and going nowhere fast.

AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH! North Sea and no wind. The last 12 hours have been slow, very slow indeed, in fact I would like to be able to say that we are going slowly right now, but we are not, our ground speed currently reads 0.0 knots so we are not going at all.

The slow, or no progress is made a little bit more painful by the proximity of the finish line, but we haven't let that dampen spirits on board. There was an impromptu pub quiz held on deck this evening, run by our very own quiz mister general, the man from the Wootton Bassett 5 Bells Massive, Quiz master Griff.

Much to the amusement of the teams, Griff even included some music questions where the most questionable thing was his attempted renditions of some TV theme tunes. Throughout the quiz there was also quite a few duck faces being pulled, nothing to do with the quiz but amusing none the less.

The 0200 watch change is happening as I type this and the crew are making the most of the whole boat being awake buy cranking the tunes up and I can hear dancing on deck. It’s all helping us ignore the fact that we have been staring at the same oil rig for about 1 million years.

The light weather has allowed us to get on with a few running maintenance tasks and get going on some cleaning and polishing on deck to get the boat looking good for our arrival in St Katharine Docks in less than 2 weeks’ time.

Sailing 40,000 plus miles takes its toll on the boat and as no has ever said "chicks dig cosmetic rust" so it’s good to be doing some cosmetic maintenance and cleaning up so we are looking our best when we return.

We have Qingdao and ClipperTelemed+ on the horizon so this driftathon isn't over yet...

IchorOUT!
