A frustrating day in light or non-existent winds interspersed with rain and heavy squalls, but every cloud has a silver lining and this morning the sun is shining and the lightweight spinnaker is hauling Qingdao in the right direction towards Den Helder.

Fleet Meteorologist Simon Rowell has warned of a big parking lot to appear later today too, which will prove interesting. With only 175 nautical miles to go as I write, we are hoping not to park up for too long. Maybe the wind gods will soften their approach and allow a reasonable arrival time in this last race stopover.

Cheers, Bob
