It's a relief to have some wind again and to feel we've a chance of arriving in Punta del Este this September! Our helms and trimmers have enjoyed the recent opportunity to practice in varied conditions but are back in their sweet spot with a pacier wind behind them.

This newfound speed has attracted back the plentiful wildlife which had been struggling to slow down to our sluggish pace. This has included a good show by a pod of frisky pilot whales within ten feet of the boat during sunset last night and some night time dolphins, lit only by our starboard light jumping and swimming alongside the boat. A sight for the watch on duty, until our lone trimmer shouted 'grind' and they remembered their more pressing on-deck tasks.

During the clear sunny daytime conditions, we took the opportunity to hoist a couple of our more weighty crew up the mast to check spinnaker halyards remain in good condition and to take a few photos. Paul Bidwell noted his shorts and harness were "rather tight" upon descending, while Spencer Munn admitted he'd enjoyed a short rest at the first spreader on his way back down in order to catch his breath. Some great shots captured for sharing with the media team on arrival in Punta. Speaking of which, "Are we nearly there yet"? The crew is calling, must dash.

Cheers, Bob.
