The Race Viewer must have provided lots of amusement for interested parties yesterday, as a group of us went here, there and everywhere trying to break out of the variable wind and squall cloud zone.
Eventually last night saw us get some consistent wind and then some humorous
entertainment from a VHF conversation between Skipper Olivier, on ‘El Max’, and
what sounded to be a vodka'd Russian Captain on the freighter, the 'Blue
Danube' gave some light relief from what had been a very frustrating 24 hours.
The ridge of high pressure, light winds and TSS (Traffic Separation Scheme) belt
are going to provide the next puzzle in the tapestry of life on Unicef and its surrounding companions as
it and they continue their epic voyage of discovery towards the Waddenzee. Sho
hopefully shoon vee will be getting into Den Helder and get a leetle bit
crayshee. We are looking forward to
seeing Deputy Race Director Mark and the linesmen in their wooden clogs and PR
Manager Jules and Race Manager Sarah with blonde plaits and bunches of daffodils
to welcome us in.
All good,
Cloughy
