Hi all,

The last twenty four hours has been quite rollercoaster of events, Unicef finally laid the first mark in the company of Qingdao and shortly after subjected to a violent wind increase. Other Clipper Race yachts in the vicinity must have experienced the same cruel attack.

Having paid our 'tax' the wind eased, sea state settled, and out came the medium weight for a really pleasant evening sail with Qingdao hard on our heels.

Dawn broke to expose the stunning landfall of Tasmania and a need to change to the Yankee 2. Some slick work by the Unicef foredeck team got the change smartly processed and with IchorCoal in sight now, the team geared up for competitive day’s battle.

Alas light airs paid us a visit and against the scenic backdrop we have spent the day keeping the yacht from parking up and are now match sailing with IchorCoal. Blue Sky! Sun! Happy crew and happy birthday Leg 4 crew member Marta Michalska!

An idyllic setting!
