We've had a pretty shocking 24 hours. Since rounding Mark Newman in a really good position in the fleet - after a lot of hard work that first night - I proceeded to make bad decision after bad decision. Now we have just rounded Mark Hutchings in 9th place - and we are losing ground as we sail south. It's like the race from Panama to New York all over again. No matter what we do we just can't seem to keep up with everyone upwind on a starboard tack.

Feeling the weight of a million peoples' expectations and hopes on my shoulders and I fear we are going to disappoint. The crew are well and safe and eager to work hard - so let's hope somehow, we can pull this back.

Sailing with style - Nik
