Me:Hi John, How are you? Great to see you

John:Rob, Wow…… I haven't seen you for ages,

[the friends hug}

Me:What have you been up to?

John:Oh, you know – working, renovating the house, trying to make a difference. What about you: Where have you been?

Me:I’ve been away for a year on a yacht race around the world. Over 40,000 nautical miles across eight legs. We just finished a few weeks ago.

John:Oh wow. That sounds amazing.

Me: It was pretty special. Very very challenging, exciting at times, and full of so many experiences. But also very humbling. I’ve made friends for life ….. and maybe even learnt a little bit of forbearance!

John: The night sky must have been spectacular. Did you see much wildlife?

Me: Not as much as I expected, I think we saw too many fishing boats, but I will always remember the soaring albatross swooping across the waves. But the sky was huge. It went all the way from over there [indicates far to the left] to right over there [indicates far to the right]. There are so many stars out there John. It’s so beautiful.

John:Wow!

[pause]

John:Did you see the game on Saturday. Pity about that young winger eh?
