07.20 – 09.00 am convinced three fishing vessels to alter course followed by nav station power nap.
09.00 – 10.00 am Check helm pollywog, stand on the bow and scream instructions back – boat speed increases by five knots.
10.00 – 10.05 am Spinnaker hoist, sweat Code 3 single-handed with no tailing. Previous packing is too strong and the sail does not inflate in 40 knots of wind.
10.05 – 11.00 am Take the helm and intentionally sail into a squall, immediately blow spinnaker – use anti-wrap net (Dirk) to sail exact COG at 20 kts.
11.00 – 11.05 am Drop, repair, and wool spinnaker. Thirsty, so replenish electrolytes with a gallon of seawater.
11.05 – 11.40 am Sail locker nap then head to galley to wait for lunch.
11.40 – 12.40 pm Stare at cooks in silence while they prepare lunch.
12.40 – 12.41 pm Lunch served – say not hungry and head on deck.
12.41 – 01.00 pm Complain to other shellbacks of quality of seawater and powdered milk, prepare for intense deck nap
