Back to archiveThis Tuesday sees the first of two Clipper Race crew presentations in the San Francisco Bay area for anyone interested in taking part in the world’s longest yacht race.
Crew Recruitment Manager, David Cusworth, a circumnavigator during the Clipper 2002 Race, will be on hand to give interested people a real sense of what it is like to pit your wits against Mother Nature.
The OCSC Sailing School pays host to the presentation on Tuesday evening, while the recruitment tour heads to South Beach Yacht Club the following night.
The Clipper Race allows everyday people to take on some of the most extreme sailing conditions on the planet. Forty per cent of crew members who take part in the Clipper Race have never stepped on board a yacht before their Level 1 race training.
Over 650 crew, representing over forty nationalities are set to take part in the next edition of the race promising to make it the biggest to date.

Tuesday 26 February. Time: 1900-2100
South Beach Yacht Club, Pier 40, Embarcadero, San Francisco.
Wednesday 27 February. Time: 1800-2000.
