Clipper Race navigates a third race deal with KH Charts

Clipper Ventures Plc has announced that KH Charts has been appointed as the official supplier for the Clipper 13-14 Round the World Yacht Race. This partnership will mark the third consecutive time one of the world’s largest stockist and distributor of charts, navigational data and marine technical publications has partnered the Clipper Race.

KH Charts will supply all the navigational data for the matched fleet of 12, 70ft ocean racing yachts competing in the Clipper 13-14 Race, helping to keep the crews safe during the 40,000-mile, 11 month challenge. This will comprise of paper and digital navigation charts and nautical information (with Admiralty data available courtesy of the UKHO).

Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, founder and chairman of the Clipper Race, said, “I’m extremely pleased to announce KH Charts as our Official Supplier for the third consecutive time. The company is a globally-respected supplier of this kind of navigational data, which our crews will be relying on during the 11 months they’ll be competing.”

The Official Supplier of the Clipper Race originally got involved with the biennial event because of its spirit of teamwork and respect; two values the company has held throughout its 250-year history.

The highly accurate data that will guide these amateur teams through some tough conditions is what KH Charts is known for. As the world’s largest supplier of navigational data, the company has much experience with professional vessels like the third generation Clipper 70 ocean racing yacht that sees its debut this year.

The Clipper 13-14 Race will set off from St Katharine Docks, London on Sunday, 1 September stopping at 15 ports on six continents over 11 months.
