Henri Lloyd presented with Old Pulteney Navigator Cup for Race 8 win.
Back to archiveThe outdoor pool at the ONE˚15 Marina, Sentosa Cove was a stunning moonlight setting for the official Clipper Race crew prize giving last night for Race 8: The Old Pulteney Navigator Cup.
Of course it wouldn’t be crew prize giving without the now standard well-timed downpour but gladly on this occasion, the rain was short lived. Skippers and their crews joined together with friends and family to celebrate their successes under the stars while enjoying a BBQ and complimentary bar courtesy of Team Sponsors Old Pulteney and partner brand Chang beer.
Before handing out the race awards, Margaret Mary Clarke – Senior Brand Manager for Old Pulteney, congratulated the skippers and crews, saying: “The Old Pulteney Navigator Cup was so named because of the precise and challenging navigation that was required during this race. It was a difficult, highly tactical race and we congratulate all the teams for their efforts.”
Henri Lloyd, GREAT Britain and OneDLL were all called up on stage by Race Director Justin Taylor to receive their respective first, second and third place winners pennants and also special Clipper Race designed commemorative plates, provided by ONE˚15 Marina Chairman, Mr Arthur Tay.
Henri Lloyd were also officially awarded the Old Pulteney Navigator Cup trophy. After raising the trophy high, skipper Eric Holden said: “This is the second time we’ve been able to celebrate a first place finish and it feels just as special as the first time. I am very proud of my team. We’re all delighted to be here tonight as winners of the Old Pulteney Navigator Cup and we hope to be back on stage, celebrating further team successes very soon.”
