Mission Performance Diverts to Port Elizabeth

Mission Performance is diverting to Port Elizabeth, South Africa, approximately 270 miles to the north east of her current position. Leg 3 crew member, David Griffin, 40, from Australia suffered a calf injury this morning after being hit by a wave whilst working on the bow during a headsail change. He is currently in good spirits and is being looked after by his skipper and crew members including on board medic Bee Lian Seet.

 Mission Performance is estimated to arrive into Port Elizabeth at 1600 UTC tomorrow, where David will receive medical attention.
