PSP Logistics has keel signed in Sydney
Back to archiveThe skipper, crew and the friends and family of PSP Logistics have today signed messages of support on the keel of the yacht, raising money for the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.
The yacht is currently being anti-fouled for her half way round the world clean ahead of the whole fleet’s participation in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Race.
Skipper Chris Hollis was the first to sign his yacht’s keel at Sydney City Marine, followed by Katie Beney, Marine Development for PSP Logistics.
Katie said: “The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust is the official charity of PSP Logistics and the Clipper Race, so we thought it was a really nice idea to get messages of support written that will travel with the yacht on the rest of the race.
“As so many of the crew are Australian and from Sydney, it has been really exciting to sail in on the good ship PSP Logistics and then get the yacht ready for the Rolex Sydney Hobart Race and the next part of everyone’s adventure.”
John Hickey, customer relations manager for Sydney City Marine, also signed the keel and wished the whole of the Clipper Race fleet luck in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Race.
The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust was established by solo long distance yachtswoman Dame Ellen MacArthur to take young people aged between 8 and 24 sailing to help them regain their confidence, on their way to recovery from cancer, leukaemia and other serious illness.
