​Capturing life crossing The North Pacific: The Hyatt Photo Competition

Hyatt and The Clipper Race have worked together to offer a photo competition for crew to enter for a chance to win a Hyatt hotel stay - the ultimate in comfort after 36 days at sea.

The best three photos received from Race 10, which capture the dramatic contrast between the luxury of a Hyatt Hotel and life at sea on a Clipper 70 have been awarded the dreamy prizes.

As the teams crossed the North Pacific, they battled the elements and worked extremely hard to sail the yacht across one of the most remote and rugged places on the planet.

Entrants were asked to get snapping photos which demonstrate what it is like sailing in freezing cold conditions, high wind, heavy rain, working hard on deck, in big waves, cooking for hungry teammates or climbing into your bunk like Spiderman. All the unique experiences that life at an angle offers!

The winners were announced at the Prizegiving Ceremony in Seattle on Monday 25 April.

The chosen winners and photos were:

Charlotte Mitchell, WTC Logistics with ‘Sailor's Hands’

and Paul Harwood, Dare To Lead with ‘Luxury Penthouse Accommodation’

For the prize, Hyatt has offered overnight stays in an Emerald Suite at the Grand Hyatt Seattle, the Luxury Suite at the Hyatt at Olive 8 and a Regency Suite at the Hyatt Regency Seattle to enjoy during the stopover (based on availability).
