Our twelve Clipper 70s make up the world’s largest fleet of matched design ocean racing yachts. Specially manufactured to take on Mother Nature’s toughest conditions as they circumnavigate the globe, these yachts are built for speed, not comfort.
No previous sailing experience is needed to take part as we provide full training, and up to 40 per cent of our crew members have never sailed before they sign up for the race. The only qualifications participants need is a good level of fitness, to be aged 18 or over and possess a thirst for adventure into the unknown.
The Cape Town Race Village features a wide range of attractions in conjunction with the South African Ocean Festival (http://oceanfestival.co.za/ ). From free public talks from our intrepid adventurers, extreme water polo, paddle boarding and on-the-water display shows, there are plenty of activities guaranteed to get visitors into the spirit of on-the-water adventure.
