GLOBAL STAGE AT YACHT RACING FORUM

29 September 2016

We’re pleased to announce a three year partnership with the prestigious Yacht Racing Forum, the leading annual conference for the business of sailing and yacht racing.

The Yacht Racing Forum (YRF) is the only business-to-business conference that brings together the key players from across the whole yacht racing industry. YRF provides the chance to discuss the issues facing the sport and to share best practice. It also facilitates business development through providing quality networking opportunities with decision makers from all areas within the industry.

The Clipper Race is operated by Clipper Ventures, CEO William Ward said: “We have been in business for twenty years and have just completed the tenth edition of the biennial Clipper Race. We feel it is important to demonstrate our long-term and significant commitment to the global sailing calendar as organisers of the biggest ocean race to circumnavigate the planet; the Clipper Race fields over 700 crew on twelve large one-design yachts in a series of 14 races between six continents lasting almost a year. The Yacht Racing Forum is the perfect platform to do that and I look forward to attending this year’s event with my colleagues.”

Clipper Ventures has already been involved alongside the Yacht Racing Forum on many occasions since its debut in 2008 in Monaco. The new long-term partnership with the Yacht Racing Forum is part of the company’s strategy to underpin its prominent position within the international yacht racing scene.

"Clipper Ventures’ business model is unique in the sailing world and we are delighted to welcome, and to initiate, a long lasting partnership with this organisation,” said Bernard Schopfer, the Yacht Racing Forum’s CEO. “This new support from Clipper Ventures confirms that we have been working in the right direction over the past months and that we are now able to attract entities who cover the entire spectrum of yacht racing."

This year the Yacht Racing Forum is being held on 28-29 November in Malta. The two-day event gathers the sport’s key personalities and industry experts to discuss the business of the sport and key issues such as sponsorship, television, media, sustainability, new markets, host cities and much more.
