Imagine your Korea accepts eleventh place in Race15
28 July 2022
Due to the time needed to get to Race Finish in London on 30 July, Imagine your Korea has been offered and has accepted eleventh position in Race 15 and one race point. This decision is with immediate effect and the team will now make best speed to the finish line by all available means including engine when necessary.
The offer of accepting eleventh position was made to Imagine your Korea by the Clipper Race Committee to ensure that the Race Crew did not miss the celebrations ahead at London’s Royal Docks this weekend. The team was slowed shortly after the start of Race 15 as it was caught in discarded fishing nets. That delay then led to the team experiencing a strong foul tide against them in the Pentland Firth which impacted its progress.
Imagine your Korea is now no longer racing. The team may take the shortest route possible to the finish line off Southend (regardless of the Course Instructions), but will still navigate with caution around the coastal areas. Current weather predictions show the team may have good wind further down the track so could still be able to make progress under sail.
