Just one week to go until Race Village opens!

As anticipation builds for the start of the tenth edition race, the long awaited opening of the Race Village at St Katharine Docks, London is now just one week away.
From Saturday 22 August to Sunday 30 August from 1100 to 1800 daily, the central London marina will be awash with the bright red race jackets of the Clipper 2015-16 Race’s international crew and skippers, and a series of fascinating events running throughout the schedule are guaranteed to get visitors into the spirit of global adventure.
Join in the journey and enjoy daily live entertainment from stopover ports around the globe, try delicious food stalls, watch big screen race highlights, listen to fascinating masterclass talks with our ocean racing experts, and test your skills on the Harken Grinder Challenge. You can also find Limited Edition Official Clipper Race merchandise for all the family.
Want a taste of what it’s like to be an ocean racer? Take free tours daily on board one of the world’s largest matched fleet of yachts, and listen to tales of the high seas from our alumni crew during our daily Q&A sessions.
Look the part and get kitted out like a race crew member to learn about technical kit from Official Technical Clothing Supplier, Henri Lloyd, test out our Official Clipper Race lifejackets with the RNLI or take the controls and show off your competitive side with remote control model yacht racing.
Want to try out a different adventure on the water? From Thursday 27 August through to Race Start day, stand-up paddle boarding company Active 360 is running free taster sessions around St Katharine Docks marina and paid classes for paddle boarding yoga! If you prefer dry-land, our Official Marine Electronics and Action Camera Partner, Garmin challenge you to the Vector Challenge on board its cycling simulator.
This year the Clipper Race is supporting children’s charity Unicef, working together to make a safer world for children. Visit the Unicef stand and get an insight into what life is like for thousands of people around the world when you immerse yourself in a virtual reality Refugee Camp.
The week of festivities culminates on Sunday 30 August with a spectacular parade of sail along the River Thames when Tower Bridge will open for all twelve yachts to sail through twice before the teams head off on their 40,000 mile circumnavigation.

1300: Start of St Katharine Docks departure ceremony
1415 – 1500: Fleet slip lines at St Katharine Docks and enter Thames
1500-1530: Fleet circuit south of Wapping from Butlers Wharf
1530 – 1600: Tower Bridge opens for fleet to pass under
1615 – 1645: View the fleet pass down the Thames from Canary Wharf
1700 – 1720: View the fleet pass down the Thames from Greenwich
1710 – 1730: View the fleet pass down the Thames from O2 Arena
1720 – 1740: View the fleet pass down the Thames from Thames Barrier
1820 – 1840: View the fleet pass down the Thames from QE2 Bridge
The first race will start off Southend Pier on Monday 31 August at 1230 BST (1130 UTC).
