12 March 2015

Today, Clipper Ventures CEO, William Ward and the Clipper Race partnerships team are at the annual SportsPro LIVE show in London. Hosted at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, the Clipper Race is one of eight partners for the event and joins global sport industry peers to present its unique destination marketing and business development opportunities whilst also sharing ideas and best practice on how to stage the ultimate sports event.

Following a successful debut last year, the SportsPro LIVE show is an opportunity for the global sports industry to join together. Top-level executive speakers include Nick Bitel, Chairman of Sport England, Al Guido, Chief Operating Officer at the San Francisco 49’ers, Debbie Jevans CBE, Chief Executive of England Rugby 2015, and Kit McConnell, Sport Director at the International Olympic Committee, and David Williams, Chairman of the PGA European Tour, among many more.

“As the race enters its tenth edition, opportunities for partners are greater than ever,” says Clipper Ventures CEO, William Ward.

“I am pleased to have the Clipper Race partnerships team exhibiting at SportsPro LIVE. The conference offers us the opportunity to network amongst leaders of sport and business and discuss the range of partnership opportunities available with the race.”

Crews of more than 600 people from all walks of life step on board our fleet of twelve identical 70-foot ocean racing yachts and race between major markets on six continents throughout the course of a year. Partners use sailing events, shore-side forums and high-level networking and activation opportunities to inspire internal audiences, deepen business and government relationships, develop new business markets and deliver unique social and environmental objectives.

The race represents a powerful alliance of brands, corporations and destinations and Team Sponsors having the opportunity to shape the route by bidding for preferred Host Ports.

There are a wide range of partnership opportunities available and in the previous edition of the race, successful campaigns included the GREAT Britain yacht and its UK partners such as Land Rover; A division of a major international bank which combined the opportunity to unite its global workforce under one vision, generating tens of millions of Euros of new business. The Chinese city Qingdao, host of sailing competitions in the Beijing 2008 Olympic games, is building on its tourism and trade and is now entering its sixth consecutive race sponsorship.
