Race Schedule Latest - Rio and Airlie Beach Marinas Confirmed

We are now able to confirm the remainder of the race route schedule and can release details of the marinas we will be berthing at in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Airlie Beach, Australia.

The Clipper 2015-16 Race will consist of 14 races and last 11 months, finishing back in St Katharine Docks next to Tower Bridge in London on Saturday 30 July 2016.

In Rio de Janeiro, at the end of Race 1 on the Atlantic Trade Winds Leg, the fleet will berth in the scenic Marina da Glória on Guanabara Bay.The area offers one of the most beautiful views of Corcovado and Sugar Loaf Mountains and will host the sailing competitions during the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. There will also be food trucks, bars and a wooded BBQ picnic area for crew to enjoy.

At the end of Race 6 in the Australia Leg, the boats will berth at Abell Point Marina in Airlie Beach, the gateway to the 74 Whitsunday islands and the Great Barrier Reef.

The marina is 25 minutes from the Whitsunday Coast Airport, Proserpine, and just minutes from the vibrant town of Airlie Beach. The marina has just undergone a multi-million dollar development and has the latest marina village facilities including boating and chandlery facilities and leisure areas.

**This date is our best estimated date as Clipper Ventures PLC is not in control of the Panama Canal scheduling. The race shall start as soon as all of the boats are through the Canal and on the Caribbean side.
