Race update on Punta del Este

Given slow progress over the last few days and its likely ETA into Airlie Beach due to lighter wind conditions, Punta del Este has officially accepted 10th position and the award of 2 points for Race 5. This follows the news announced yesterday, that Visit Sanya, China officially accepted 11th position and will receive 1 point. Both teams have now ceased racing and are able to make best speed to Airlie Beach by all available means, including engine.

With the fleet all racing on elapsed time, Unicef is now the only team that can change the podium positions and is working hard to see if they can finish within 48 hours of any of the yachts currently ahead of them on the race track. This is likely to go down to the wire and the result will not be known until the last few hours of racing.
