2015-16 Race Media Coverage Highlights

 

Up to 19 June 2016 the Clipper Race had news coverage in 3,363 unique media channels and outlets whose combined audited readership or audience is 1,423,333,609 people, consequently creating 8 billion opportunities to see race coverage. The Unique Global Audience base exceeds 1.4 billion people with the final few races still to be analysed. The PR value of all coverage evaluated up to 19 June is now more than £287.36 million.

The Clipper 2015-16 Race attracted 4 million visits to the official website, a remarkable 75% increase on the 2013-14 edition. 15 million page views were registered on the website with the largest increases in traffic coming from Venezuela, Vietnam and Estonia. The Clipper Race website also won the ‘Best Sports Website’ in the 2015 Lovie Awards and has been nominated for a number of other awards this autumn.

The Race of Their Lives 2, the documentary series following the Clipper 2015-16 Race is currently being broadcast in the UK on Sky Sports 5 on Monday nights at 2100 BST, with repeats every Tuesday and Wednesday. The award winning documentary was first aired on the channel last week and will continue weekly until all seven episodes in the series have been shown. The documentary has also been distributed to broadcasters around the world, reaching well in excess of one hundred countries so far.
