Yesterday, easy sailing past the coastline of Northern Ireland with dolphins performing jumps alongside and inquisitive seals popping up occasionally to take a look at Ha Long Bay, Viet Nam sail on by.

As a reasonably seasoned sailor I have taken in hundreds of sunsets over the years But, last night I witnessed my first ever green flash as the sun descended below the horizon. I was convinced the elusive green flash was just folk law but now having seen it with my own two eyes I'm now a believer.

We're now beating down the west coast of Ireland having returned to being inclined at 35 degrees. Hopefully later today as we clear Mizzen Head and the iconic Fastnet rock and lighthouse, the wind will free off and we will return to upright sailing under a spinnaker charging down the English Channel.

The time for reflection is approaching but, right now it’s all about racing until the finish line all guns blazing!
