Scoring Gate complete. A massive win for the whole boat to have made it through the Scoring Gate in 2nd place.

We worked hard to put ourselves in contention for the gate, as with the uncertainty at the end of this race so high we tried to ensure we were pushing to get points that we could be certain of. As the wind was building it was a race against the other boats, but also a race to get over the gate so that we could make the spinnaker switch that we needed to.

Happy to report that all went according to plan, now comes a little tricky part of this race with an inshore vs offshore decision to be made, waves and wind to consider, as well as distances and angles. How accurate will the forecast be, when and where will the wind lighten first, and if it does lighten, is that a disadvantage?

Plenty to think about!
