This section of the race up to Washington, DC was always meant to be the big question mark hanging over us. The Windward Passage, traditionally lacking wind and difficult to get through, has been not as bad as in previous races. For the most part we have kept moving in a positive direction. Where there was meant to be no wind, we have kept some movement and generally have been stationary for only very short periods of time.

Great from a racing perspective, amazing from a crew morale perspective. Making good time here is setting us in good stead for the rest of this race. Unfortunately, in the game of wind-hole roulette we haven't done so well and lost out to the boats behind and in-front. But this is the roll of the dice that we take, racing through areas of uncertainty like this.

On the topic of crew morale: we have finally after weeks of trying, caught a fish, a "Gar" (this is a complete guess), coming in at 96cm long and about 10kg, it provided 18 fillets of delightful fresh meat. After the chief fishing officer Lachlan had run away, the rest of the crew had dealt with it. Including a killer stroke from Katie, some posing for photos from Ella and great de scaling by Lucy. Lightly fried with some olive oil and lime juice, sensational. Takes me back to a Greek taverna by the sea.

We are intrigued to see where the rest of the fleet that we can't see pops out of Stealth Mode and to see what has been occurring across the whole fleet.
