It's Easter Sunday on board Perseverance (still can’t spell it) and we're running the calmest and most graceful Easter egg hunt we possibly can.
Everyone is gently running round the boat trying not to disturb the spinnaker in the light winds. After a fun few days successfully playing catch up, we're back in the mix. If anyone asks how we caught the fleet I'm going to tell them it was Ineke's pure tactical genius and my ability to trim a Clipper 70 better than the rest of the AQPs. In reality it was just sailing in a straight line directly behind the fleet and doing loop the loops every so often to get the seaweed off.
Watching the volcanic mountains of Southern Japan appear out of the horizon whilst overtaking the mid pack has made my morning watch one of the most enjoyable watches of my Clipper Race to date.
We've now split from the pack and gone more east whilst they've gone more north. So, we'll see who does better out of that. At the moment it looks like maybe it’s them. All to play for and it's nice to know that we're still in hitting distance of our current main rivals Zhuhai, who we can see on AIS.
