All is well on Perseverance at the moment. Vibes are high and we got a point at the Scoring Gate which is a bonus. There's music on deck, and lots of laughs and snacks. There's obviously a lot of pressure to beat Zhuhai and Ha Long Bay, Viet Nam but that pressure has translated into a really fun team-yness. Now all the boats are headed north to take full advantage of this strong wind that we will have for 8-10 hours. As the wind increased, we dropped from Code 1 to 2 to 3, and are now trying to get the most advantageous angle northwest. In the lead up to the Scoring Gate we blew our Code 1 in 11kts of apparent. Even though we had been flying it well within its wind range, it gave up. I think after so much UV, and so many miles, we're probably due a kite blow. The kite repair team instantly got to work, coming out of the watch system and going into their own 3-manrota. Unbelievably the kite was back flying in less than 36 hours.

In Joss news I've almost finished Paul Bolwes 'Under a Sheltering Sky', beautifully written with amazing descriptions of post-war North Africa, but it's got to be one of the toughest reads ever. Not one likable character in the entire book. Every time someone seems to show some redeeming quality, they do something even more weak or sinister. Thanks for the book, Bill and Sherri, I’m excited to discuss it in Portsmouth.

Anyway...thank you to our supporters, safe to say we're pushing hard for the race win and appreciate your support xx
