Wow. What a first night at sea. After a tense short course with strong tides, we headed off the east of the Isle of Wight into some lovely downwind, sunset sailing. We have been carrying our Code 2, with three smooth gybes so far in a beautiful star-lit sky. The crew are all settling well, and getting into the groove of sailing again after the excitement of the Race Village and send off that Portsmouth gave us yesterday. A massive thank you from all of us on the UNICEF team for the ‘Big Blue Clipper Boat’ supporters, we heard you the whole way along, and it meant a lot to know how many of you are behind us on the race of our lives. The Clipper Race spirit on board is strong and we are excited and expectant for the next few days ahead.
