This last part of the race has proved to be especially challenging, with the temperature down into the teens for the first time this race. Everyone has had to dig out their mid layers for under their foulies.
Mother Nature has proved to be an unyielding mistress, as she throws 40knts of wind at us making these last days hard work, we fight up wind with only scraps of sail, dreaming of a flat bed in Punta.
This race has really given us a taste of everything, and the crew have done an amazing job of dealing with it all. Pulling together time and again to really thrive since leaving Puerto Sherry.
This one’s a bit short as I have to go and shake a reef out the tack before we get to the coast of South America (roughly 20nm.) No rest for the on watch! At least it will keep them warm.
