Wet, windy, cold and fast. That's what we told the crew this leg was about.
So far, we have spent most of our time drifting around in fog trying to get the boat moving in any direction. Listening to the sounds of whales all around us. This made the whole experience quite eery.
Now we have wormed up wind as we desperately try to stay on the coat tails of the low-pressure system that has been developing.
It's been a really tight first couple of days with the fleet still within 30nm of each other. Sail changes have been coming thick and fast as the wind goes from 0 to 35kt and back. It’s giving the crew some good practice.
Hopefully, making future changes less of a challenge.
Spirits are high although the boat feels empty with less crew on board than the last leg.
