We have been able to point at Virtual Mark Kitching for many hundreds of miles now. It is quite rare to be able to have straight mark VMG in this way, and it has been quite exciting drag racing Qingdao towards it.

The AIS system, which we use to locate vessels in the surrounding areas, is the busiest I have EVER seen it. Each fishing vessel is accompanied by targets marking the end of their lines. It’s quite scary to see the extent of commercial fishing going on here in the South China Sea.

The crew are pushing hard and racing well, with the exciting allure of Ha Long Bay fun becoming closer with each watch. It’s going to be an exciting one right to the end we think, with lots of changing weather in the last 100 miles so stay tuned and we will see you soon!
