Morale is high on board now that we have left the South China Sea.

We have turned north and put the wind behind us, the spinnaker is flying, and the sea is flat. Being the first boat through the Scoring Gate has also helped. Everyone has enjoyed the break from upwind sailing, the sea sickness has gone and its sill warm enough for shorts. The crew are determined to make the most of this short reprieve before we are back in up wind action over the next couple of days.

Although physically tough, the tacking battle was great with fleet positions constantly changing depending on who judged the wind best at any given time. Several times we crossed in front or behind Yacht Club Punta del Este, always getting a friendly wave we the sailed by.

Now we push on, hoping to make as many miles as we can under Spinnaker while keeping a close eye on the horizon for the clouds that will indicate when the next weather front comes in.
