Hello amigos,
Currently flying along with our spinnaker waiting for the wind to pick up, all ready, briefed, adrenaline pumped up, helmers are prepped, ready for a nice blow north. It’s been magnificent conditions, we’ve been sailing well, everyone has been helming and enjoying the champagne sailing we have had. Tonight is the first night without stars, so it’s harder on the helm, and not as pretty as the nights before when the Milky Way was showing her beauty. Looking at the stars is something we forget to do and it’s so important, it makes you feel small and insignificant (in a good way), makes you dream awake. The temperature is still nice, not many layers on and we are already on the 47-degree latitude. I’m loving it. The crew is having a great leg, everyone is in love with the Atlantic, the RTW’ers are showing their skills and sharing the knowledge with the leggers who are still learning the tricks and getting deeply into it. We haven’t had any issues, Stephane and Angus worked on the steering and on the heads pumps, Laura, Mac and Lucia sewed some tiny holes in the Code 2, the boat is clean and not very smelly too, life is good. We are looking forward to the upcoming weather as it is going to give us opportunities to catch up more with the leaders. We are following the Euro and the Copa America closely and I think/wish Uruguay will win our 16th cup. I remember when we won the 15th. Tomorrow we are playing Brazil, so if we win, I'll be nice with Laura, if not she is doing the heads all day; on semi finals Colombia (Sorry Parceros!) and the final match will be against Argentina: a match we will see with Nico in Scotland. Not much more going on over here, Oban is going to be amazing for us as when small towns are the Host Port, the Clipper Race vibe is amazing.
Big hug to you all RTW, we wish you a great weekend, do things! Vamos Crew! Vamos Punta!
