Hi all,
After an extremely slow couple of days, drifting around and taking along the beautiful northern coast of Ireland, we are finally moving.
It has been a lot of up and down in the back of the back and very hard to really make any real gains on the top three boats. It has been a little game of cat and mouse. As boats in front park up, we slowly drift into the back of them then they take off again as we sit and have another cup of tea. Luckily we've got all the honey from Winnie as we have run out of sugar. We just hope we position ourselves in the right spot to get the breeze first and from the right angle. But sometimes it is a little bit of luck that you need.
Now we have found some wind that looks set to fly us home to Portsmouth. With maybe a day or so of tacking to get down the coast, followed by some good down with sailing through the channel. Should be a lovely couple of days. It's all about working the angles and getting your timings right. Going too early or going too late will cost you.
