Open boats and full programme of events in Albany this weekend

A busy programme of events for the public and crew is happening this weekend in Albany, Western Australia.

Today (Saturday) and tomorrow there are opportunities to see on board the Clipper 70 ocean racing yachts and meet the crew embarking on the Race of Their Lives during the stopover.

One boats is open for public viewing between 10am and 4pm today, with visitors encouraged to stop by the red Clipper Race dome to get information as well. Tomorrow, two boats will be open between 10am and 4pm.

Sunday 22 – Monday 30 November – Clipper Race red dome open by Albany Waterfront Marina. Come along to find out more about the race.

Saturday 28 November 10am - 4pm Clipper 70 Yachts open to the public at Albany Waterfront Marina

Sunday 29 November 10am Albany Brownies and Girl Guides to visit the Clipper 70 yachts

10am - 4pm Clipper 70 Yachts open to the public

10am – 12.30pm Princess Royal Yacht Club try sailing day at Albany Waterfront Marina – open to the public

10am - late Albany Boat Shed Markets & Sundowner Event taking place

Aerial display by pilot Bob Grimstead on Blue Angel, 12pm and 3.30pm

Musical entertainment: 10am to 1pm - Lez Karski

1pm - 3.15pm - Combo Lily Jazz

4pm - 7pm - The Outback Gypsies

Fresh produce stalls will leave the Market at 1pm as per usual, with the food and artisan stalls staying on for a sundowner.

*The Sundowner event will be licensed from 12pm until 7pm, so everyone is encouraged to come along and enjoy the music and drinks.

2pm – 7pm Twilight markets at the Town Hall

6pm & 7pm Clipper Race documentary movie showing at Albany Town Hall – all welcome

Tuesday 1 December

12pm Clipper Race Departure Ceremony Event at Albany Waterfront Marina

1pm Parade of Sail in Princess Royal Harbour

1.30pm – 1.45pm Aerial display over the fleet by pilot Bob Grimstead on Blue Angel

3pm Race Start in King George Sound
